Name: Crmsn
Canon: URNNAI. A monstrosity of a RP that was Frakensteined together by myself and my friends.
OU/AU/OC: OC
Canon Point: Between The House and URNNAI era. (Explained in the history.)
History: Crmsn has been called "The Luckiest Unlucky Man in the World". His past is something that...he doesn't go too deeply into, and when asked the story changes from one telling to the next. What seems to stay the same is; he was kidnapped during a bank robbery while trying to run away from home when he was thirteen. Everything after that seems to become a mesh of stories that include, and were never limited to, a helicopter crash, a swim off the coast of New Zealand, or even being sold onto the black market by pirates.
Whatever happened in his past, he apparently made a four-year-long trek from one end of the world to the other with a large duffel bag of cash, which may, or may not have been, the stolen money from the bank robbery. He had intended to bring the money back, but used most of it to make his way home. Along the way he seemed to pick up a few technical skills. He found himself traveling down a dusty desert highway where he would meet the person who would change his life forever, and eventually become his future wife, CB.
After picking him up off the road while he was hitch-hiking, she dropped him off in the next town over where they went their separate ways. While in town Crmsn found himself hesitant to actually make the final journey home and decided that, instead, he'd settle down for a bit. He quickly found an ad for a house for sale out in the countryside just outside of the city and went off to make a purchase...he did, after all, still have a duffel bag full of cash he could use. He would barely get a chance to make the offer. No sooner had he knocked on the door then the owner burst forth like a bat out of hell, shouting something about "ghosts" and "getting the hell out while he can." Shoved the deed into his hands and drove off before the teen had a chance to even react.
While not exactly sure about the legitimacy of the claims regarding ghosts in the house itself...he never-the-less put out an ad in the paper for roommates. The house itself was large, and certainly he could use the company. Low and behold the first person to take up that offer was none-other than CB. Who, through questionable means, needed to lie-low for a while.
“A while” ended up being a lot longer than she planned however. With her solidly in his life now, Crmsn thought he was ready to tackle anything the world would throw at him. This would mark what could be called the beginning of the House Era for them. A life that involved robots, Net-navis, digimon, magic and more mayhem, explosions and science than he could shake a stick at
The two started to grow closer, and old friends from both their pasts soon found themselves at their doorstep. One such friend was a witch digimon, named Majomon, who used her “magic” andforced "granted" both of them an alternate digimon forms. The act was meant to be friendly and while Crmsn wasn’t too keen on becoming part digimon at first, he soon began to enjoy his new draconic form more than he cared to admit, although the form came with a baser instinct he had trouble controlling at first. He couldn’t maintain it long without going berserk and lashing out at those nearest to him. With each digivolution stage he went up, those instincts only became harder to control, and as such the House as a whole deemed that he should only digivolve when absolutely necessary.
Friends new and old eventually began living in the House with them, many of them bringing their own friends and family. With them came their own problems that seemed to follow them, dragging Crmsn into their internal conflicts and cementing them all as a force of good, a title they all did their best to stay true too even though some were…a little more amoral than others.
Crmsn soon found himself fighting NetNavis, Digimon, demons, and even shady organizations. The following years were a blur of fighting for his life, trying to start a relationship with CB, and maintaining the House. The first year of settling down was especially chaotic. During this time, another friend of theirs named Azureal, needed help with a magical experiment involving a transformation spell. Crmsn volunteered, however the magics within his own body granting him his alternate digimon form reacted violently with the new infusion, and he was fused half-way through his digimon half and his human half. It took months before the effect was eventually reversed, though it left him forever altered physically, elongating his life span, enhancing his physical strength, completely altering his digestive tract and giving him some rather sharp and pointy teeth. The experience also forced him to learn to control the more violent instincts of his digital half. It also left a bad taste in his mouth for most magic, which he started to avoid at all costs. It’s also the reason he refused to allow it to regrow his wings after a nasty incident where they were torn from his back. The event would have probably left him crippled if his wife-to-be hadn’t been doing research into cybernetics, replacing his shoulder blades almost entirely, and if they hadn’t forced at least a bit of healing magic on him to speed along his recovery.
During all this he began to fine-tune his own skills with electronics with some help from CB, and began to work freelance, using his skills to design computers, battle chips, weapon systems…whatever he could to bring a paycheck home. He soon found himself working with SciLabs and Dr. Hikari, thanks to connections with Hikaris’ two sons Lan and Hub. Along with his wife, they began to form a merger company called the United Robotics and Network Navigator Advancement Institute, also known as URNNAI.
Working together they began construction of the URNNAI Towers. A six building compound with a sixty-plus story building standing at the center of it, residing in the city a few miles from the countryside house, this became the new home. Its lower floors served as the base of operations for development of top of the line PET's, and robotic components, while the upper floors served as a personal penthouse for Crmsn and the rest of the old members of The House.
Personality: Crmsn is a genuinely nice person, but not without faults and a splash of dichotomy. He’s good to his friends and loves his family, going out of his way to put their well-being over his own, sometimes even working himself to exhaustion to provide for them. This is the face those he sees as friends tend to see more often than others; a warm hearted, strong fatherly figure that is willing to give anyone a second chance, and will extend a hand to them multiple times if he feels they’re worth the effort. He likes to smile and tries to pass it on to others, though cross him at your own risk. He does have his triggers, (Kidnapping of any fashion for instance) that will set him off.
While being a classic case of “nice guy”, Crmsn suffers from acute boredom, intelligence, and a streak of snark a mile long. Thanks to the life he’s led and the things he’s seen, not much fazes him. He rolls with the punches pretty easily, and this blasé attitude tends to make him come off as rather arrogant, not that he hasn’t earned that label without good reason. It’s also the side of him that tends to get into the most trouble, usually finding humor in sniping someone to entertain himself, or stirring up some form of mischief for the sake of seeing someone’s reactions to it. This is the face people tend to see first and most often. Child-like, smarter than he lets on, and working just to get a rise out of someone. Never truly malevolent, but…there’s a line, and he wants to skirt it as much as possible.
There is, of course the final flip side to Crmsn. While he is a fun, caring individual, he has a rather ruthless streak in him at times. He’s not afraid to use his intelligence and cunning to get what he needs from a situation; this has helped him multiple times during his business dealings and has actually made him the success he is. He knows where the line is and is willing to cross it if it can get him something valuable and or useful in the long run. This isn’t limited to just himself either, he will do this for others if he feels it necessary. First and foremost is the drive to watch over his friends and family, he’s willing to go to rather extreme lengths to make sure that status quo remains as such among them. He’s also liable to lash out if he feels he’s being pushed too far. Part of this may be because of the darker nature of his digimon form, the other part may have been his personal experiences overshadowing his gentler nature.
Strengths: He has a mastery of shadows and dark energy, effectively merging the two in order to make a utilitarian power, and its usefulness is what makes it Crmsn’s go to ability, in and out of battle. Spikes, tendrils, tentacles, sensory organs; Crmsn’s ability to manipulate shadows has grown over the years, and with some creativity he’s been able to use it as his main attack, as well as...well…everything. He’s been known to use it for opening doors, to creating cute and cuddly critters to entertain children, to spearing a person at close range. Crmsn is also what could be called a true omnivore. The most prominent change deals with his digestive tract. Teeth, tongue, sense of smell, and most of his internal organs have become drastically changed, to the point where he’s a true omnivore, being able to eat almost anything. Some things are still poisonous (irradiated metals, non-metals, and synthetic elements mostly.) and will do great harm to his body if he tries to digest them. Mercury, for example, is still toxic to Crmsn, however he can still devour iridium with no ill effects from it.
Weaknesses: Arrogance coupled with fearlessness leads to Crmsn making some really stupid moves, to put it bluntly. He will put himself in the way of something if it means he can get a blow in himself. Throw in his boredom with what’s considered normal, and his digimon nature, and you have a showboating individual with a flair for the dramatic. His shadow powers are also susceptible to light/holy based attacks. Strong sources of light even dispelling them if hit directly, and hurting him depending on where, and-or how, he’s using them at the time. There is a backlash from them if they’re dispelled while he’s actively using them. Add in the fact that he’s too strong for his body to handle and well…he tends to hurt himself more than anything he’s fighting. Lastly there’s the issue of his back, he does have problems with it, usually when the weather turns to rain or it gets cold. Cold is the worst of it, usually setting off phantom pains.…also there’s the matter of setting off any metal detector he walks through.

Hello? Hello…
[Crmsn experimentally jabs at the scroll with a hoof before recoiling abruptly. After a moment of nothing happening he slides back up to the scroll again and lets out a deep sigh.]
Is this thing working? I’m going to pretend it is…I…it is right? [There’s some choice muttering about magic and ponies before he clears his throat.] Okay so hi! I’d like to speak with customer service if at all possible, you see, my flight out of here seems to be delayed and I’d like verification that this isn’t a dream...
[He looks off to either side.]
Also what counts as “decent” around here? I’m seeing a lot of-[A brief flash of confusion crosses his face] People? Ponies? Pony-people? Poples? Peeeeeeonys-whatever-the local denizens walking around in the buff, and I’m kinda wondering if I’m the odd one out here if that’s the case?
[He lightly pulls at his shirt to accentuate that.]
I’d really rather not be the indecent one here.
Third Person:
Crmsn stabbed a hoof at the earth as he paused, muttering to himself repeatedly.
“Okay okay okay okay okay….okay……okay….”
He took a deep breath, turned abruptly, and resumed pacing while repeating the mantra to himself. It was half to get used to walking on four legs, not that it was something he was….entirely unused to, but they were foreign and weird…and hooved. Hoofed? He thought about that one for a moment. What was the proper term there? It was a short lived distraction though.
“Ooookay, yeah, I just…yeah I need a minute here…” He muttered sitting down and staring at the ground, long and hard again. He stabbed his hoof at it again. Yup, that was his alright.
“Did…did I digivolve again? De-digivolve? I don’t understand! When did HORSE become one of my primary digivolution routes?!” He shook his head, making his mane flail all over the place, “I mean…reptile? Sure. Something machine based? I eat enough metal, that makes better sense…heck, sudden NUMEmon would have made more sense…but horse!? Digital gods above…I’ve heard of stretching it, but this is ridiculous...”
He huffed and stood up again.
“I’m totally willing to believe other dragon, bone dragon, machine or slug, but horse is just stretching it! Digivolution is bullshit…”
That’s when it finally struck him and he stared around with slightly wider eyes.
“Wait...” He looked down at himself, then back at his flank, and sighed, “…I thought I felt a draft.”
